Mom talks too much
I’ve been working away on the back of teach.
I love this one so far. I have to think at the beginning of each row. I wish the designer would have taken the time to figure out the counts before you have to knit the pattern once you have done the armhole decreases, but, hey, it’s a free pattern and a good one at that, so I’ll take the few moments to figure things out. So far so good. I may have to get another ball of yarn. I went with a bigger size so it’s a more airy fit for the summers here and I may need it. The very cool thing about Bette Bornside is she will hold a ball for you when you buy a certain amount.
If we end up spending monumental time in the car this weekend I’ll get it finished for sure. Because we just may be evacuating.
In case you’ve been way too engrossed in yarn and fiber or otherwise distracted...

We are right smack dab in the path of Gustav. (click on the picture to get an updated hurricane track)
Actually it is heading a little west of us, and if it keeps nudging west we’ll be fine. But we’re all experiencing major Post Traumatic Stress around here. It’s not helping that the thing I was knitting when we evacuated for Katrina was the same color. And lace. Huh, I’m thinking I should retire lacy coral reds if Gustav hits us.
I might not feel this way if the third anniversary of Katrina wasn’t tomorrow. But it is. Here’s to hoping this one turns and it hits some unpopulated spot instead of here!

Stalking the weather channel... fast forward three years
Hey teach!
Most of the way up the back so far!
